5 Stars Meadows of heaven
This is one of my all time favorite perfumes even though I adore the other two fragrances I have from Clive. I have never been a big fan of rose scented anything, other than the flower itself but here the aroma mingling with citrus is airy and bubbly, effervescent and sweet enough to make me swoon. This truly smells like meadows of heaven, Rose de Mai is not only rare but also has a short bloom, I have never seen it in any other perfume before, but I’m glad it’s made its way into this. The heart of this scent relies on the ethereal and regal quality of this stunning flower. The scent is very distinctive and it lasts a very long time, mingling with my own chemistry. It makes the skin smell really delicious, almost as if it was showered with petals. I make sure to spray it under the clothing for longest lasting scent, and I know that fragrance rises up with the body heat so spray it behind the knees as well, and it’s nice to feel it wafting up even as I type.
The key to this smelling so utterly mouthwatering is the hint of citrus, but nothing Pledge like in here, lovely brightness cuts through the florals without disrupting the round and lush pink freshness. For those who think they don’t like rose this might be a lovely surprise, it’s one perfume to sample just to be aware of the possibilities of highly skilled perfumers and the magic of their craft.

5 Stars This Is It
I couldn’t help writing a review after reading the one above. 1872 has been my scent for the last three years, since my wedding in September of 05. I wear it every day; I get compliments all the time. Even stangers - I was standing at Starbucks in the San Francisco airport this past Christmas season and a gentleman stopped a conversation he was having mid-stream, and stepped over to me and said “excuse me, if I may say, you smell wonderful, I am not trying to hit on you, I just had to tell you how wonderful you smell, a treat after having been on a plane for hours”. That says it all for me, I had been looking for my one scent.
5 Stars Completely Hooked…
I first purchased this perfume 3 years ago and I have not worn another scent since. For me at least, it is the perfect scent - not too heavy, yet unmistakable. It blends in perfectly with my chemistry to produce a delicious scent. I cannot give it a stronger endorsement - most highly recommend.
